NPC's will have an attitude toward you based on their specific personality and upon player behaviors. Anything you do will affect NPC standings, especially hostile actions.
Key:
Indifferent - this nation does not even care that you exist
Wary - this nation is concerned by your behavior.
Hostile - negative attitude that warrants an almost certainty of war
Neutral - neither negative or positive attitude
Friendly - positive attitude
